dirty little secrets

so i was wondering what trash everybody likes to read - whats that dirty little secret book you keep stuffed under the bed...

i, for one, own 3 copies of twilight. (i hope that doesnt get me disqualified from the program) i also own the other 2 books - or is it 3? what can i say? i dig emo vampires with great hair and fast cars.

i always thought you could learn alot about a person by what they read on their off time. is anyone else willing to share?

  1. Why the heck would you own more than one copy of ANY book, let alone Twilight? LOL. Well, I do have a couple of duplicates (The Death of Ivan Illyich being one of them, but that's not a dirty little secret kind of book; it's amazing). But I don't have THREE of anything, to my knowledge. Interesting.

I don't know if Stephen King counts in this category, but he's definitely a favorite of mine, though I can't remember the last time I actually got to sit down and read one of his books. :-( I also enjoy a young adult series called Fearless, about a girl born without the gene for fear. I have the first true books in the True Blood (Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries) series, but I don't think those count either. Good books, great show. I have the books for The Vampire Diaries but have yet to read them.

Darn. I can't think of anything juicy. I'll have to look at my books and come back. LOL. Maybe I don't have anything.

  2. Oh, and I didn't MEAN to have duplicates, by the way. I accidentally bought another Death of Ivan Illyich because I didn't think I had it; and I think the other duplicates were gifts. I should probably get rid of the extras at some point.

So, what's YOUR story? Why the duplicate Twilights?

  4. i bought the first one, then i let my girlfriend borrow it. convinced she would never return it, i bought another one. then, a week or so later, she gave it back to me. im not sure why i have the third one. i think i was in the bookstore and had a 'catcher in the rye' moment and was compelled to buy it :). i also have 2 copies of a caleb carr book, but that's an accident and i cant remember the name - the angel of darkness i think. (oh and the true blood books are great.ive only read one so far, but im addicted to the show)

  7. Frank Miller and pulp fiction from the 20's, I've been digging into "island of terror," a Doc Savage adventure for awhile. I've read The vampire chronicles and the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries, as well as the Potter's, but that was years ago. Latest book is the fiction of Edgar Allen Poe, startd with "Murder on the Rue Morgue."
